Wildland fire contained after building catches fire in Greenville Co.

The Glassy Mountain Fire Department confirmed that a wildland fire in Greenville County was contained after crews from multiple agencies responded Tuesday.

Officials said the situation began when a building along Old Highway 25 caught fire on Tuesday. According to officials, crews responded to the scene and discovered that the fire had already destroyed the building and spread into the surrounding wooded area. Officials stated that the fire impacted around 35 acres before it was eventually contained.

Containment Efforts

Officials explained that the fire was contained by fire lines but will continue to burn. They added that nearby residents may see flames and smoke as the fire dies down.
