He clinched victory with an unbeatable score of 202, completing the tournament at an impressive -11, which marks the lowest 54-hole score ever recorded in the 54 years of the event!
Throughout the tournament, Kennon showcased his golfing prowess by posting three under-par rounds. But it was during the thrilling third round where he really shone, carding a dazzling five-under 66. Talk about finishing strong! The Florida native was on fire, accumulating a total of 17 birdies over the three rounds—leading the entire field of 87 competitors, and let’s not forget, he only had one bogey in the final round, proving he was in a league of his own.
As the day began, Kennon quickly set the tone by birdying his first two holes. By the time he made the turn, he was sitting at 2-under-par, ready to conquer the back nine. Five members of the team landed in the top 15, displaying a solid collective effort. Both Marshall Meisel and Collin Adams finished strong by tying for 10th at three-under par. Meanwhile, Kyle Haas tied for 13th with a final round of 70 (-1), and Tom Haberer concluded with a tie for 15th at one-under par.
The Wake Forest squad led the tournament in birdies overall, racking up a whopping 57 birdies across the three rounds. What’s more, they also delivered the lowest scores in the last two rounds, including a tournament-best performance on Sunday with a 10-under-par round. Now that’s teamwork!
