Hello, Upstate! With Veterans Day just around the corner on Monday, November 11, it’s time to show our appreciation for those who courageously served our country. Throughout Anderson, Greenville, and Spartanburg, communities are gearing up to honor veterans with a variety of exciting deals and festivities. Grab your family and friends because this is one celebration you won’t want to miss!
First up, mark your calendars for two exhilarating parades happening over the weekend! The Anderson County Veterans Day Parade is scheduled for Sunday, November 10, at 3 p.m. on South McDuffie Street. Open to the public, this parade will not only honor our veterans but will also feature fun activities like horseback riding, karaoke, games, and delicious food. What a way to spend an afternoon!
And if you’re in Honea Path, don’t miss the Town of Honea Path Veterans Day Parade happening on Saturday, November 9, starting at 10 a.m. on Main Street. Organized by the Honea Path Events Planning Committee, this festive occasion welcomes everyone to come together and recognize our heroes.
But wait, there’s more! On November 16, veterans will be honored at the Universal Unity Ranch from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.. For just $10 for adults and $5 for children aged seven and younger, enjoy tasty food and the company of fellow veterans.
Greenville is all set to celebrate as well! On Sunday, November 10, Fluor Field at the West End will host a free family-friendly event starting at 3 p.m.. Expect local veteran organizations, a vintage warbirds flyover, live music featuring Larry Fleet, and a spectacular fireworks show to cap off the night. It’s sure to be an unforgettable way to wrap up your weekend!
On Monday, November 11, there will be a special Veterans Day Monument Dedication Ceremony at Veteran’s Pointe Memorial Park in Spartanburg, hosted by the Frank Montgomery #3 Disabled Veterans (DAV). Kicking off at 11 a.m., the ceremony will include refreshments afterwards—a chance to reflect and celebrate together.
This is followed by the annual parade at 4 p.m. starting at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, winding through Church Street to the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium. Mark your calendars—you won’t want to miss it!
