Chesnee Welcomes New Head Coach
Brett Chappell has been appointed as the new head coach for the Chesnee Eagles following the retirement of Clay Lewis. Chappell brings a wealth of experience from his successful tenure at Pisgah (N.C.), where he secured five region championships. His hiring was approved by Spartanburg School District 2, and he is poised to lead the Eagles into the upcoming season.
Easley Promotes Defensive Coordinator
Sam Houston will be stepping into the role of head coach at Easley, replacing Jordan Durrah. With experience as the team’s former defensive coordinator and a coaching stint at North Greenville University, Houston is well-prepared to lead the Green Wave. Under Durrah’s guidance, Easley showed significant improvement, and the team will look to build on that success in the new season.
Greenville Gains New Leadership
Jaybo Shaw is set to take over as the head coach at Greenville High after the departure of Greg Porter. With a successful coaching record at schools in Georgia, Shaw brings a fresh perspective to the Red Raiders. His mission is clear as he aims to lead the team to further accomplishments in the upcoming season.
Mountain View Introduces First Football Coach
Grey Ramsey, a former standout athlete at Chapman, has been appointed as athletics director and the inaugural football coach at Mountain View. With previous experience as the offensive coordinator at Spartanburg, Ramsey is ready to guide the Grizzlies as they embark on their journey in Region 1-AA.
Travelers Rest Seeks New Coach
Following the departure of Michael Lancaster, Travelers Rest is in search of a new head coach. Lancaster’s decision to become an assistant at Spartanburg has left a vacancy that the Devildogs are eager to fill. With back-to-back 4-7 seasons under Lancaster, the new coach will look to steer the team towards success in the upcoming season.
Union County Names Defensive Coordinator as Head Coach
Quinnon Isom, former defensive coordinator at Crest (N.C.), has been named as the new head coach for Union County. Taking over from Brian Thompson, Isom will look to rejuvenate the Yellow Jackets after a challenging period. With past region championships under Thompson’s leadership, Isom will strive to lead the team to similar successes in the future.
Wade Hampton Appoints New Head Coach
Ruuben Wright has been appointed as the new head coach for Wade Hampton, succeeding Travis Miller. With experience as the defensive coordinator at Wharton High in Florida, Wright brings a fresh perspective to the Generals. Wade Hampton aims to turn the tide under Wright’s leadership after a tough run in the past couple of seasons.
