Trehel, a renowned construction company in the Upstate region of South Carolina, is making a comeback to residential construction with the launch of a new division called Trehel Tailored Homes. The division will specialize in high-end custom-home construction and will complement Trehel’s existing commercial work.
Trehel was originally founded in 1982 by Neal Workman in Oconee County, where it began its journey in residential construction. Over time, the company expanded its scope to focus exclusively on commercial projects in various industries such as faith-based, industrial, healthcare, and education. With the introduction of Trehel Tailored Homes, the company is returning to its roots and adding residential projects back into its portfolio.
Will Huss, the CEO of Trehel, stated that the launch of the new division is an opportunity for the company to build off its commercial success and fulfill clients’ requests for high-quality homes to match the caliber of their commercial projects. By integrating the residential and commercial divisions under one roof, Trehel aims to create a seamless experience for its clients.
To facilitate the launch of Trehel Tailored Homes, Trehel acquired custom homebuilder Mobius Construction. Matt Ruth, the founder of Mobius Construction, will join Trehel as the team lead for the new division. The collaboration between the two companies was a natural fit, as they often met different project needs for the same clients.
Keith Poole, the President and COO of Trehel, emphasized the company’s commitment to building strong relationships with its clients. He believes that helping clients make informed decisions throughout the construction process and fostering a positive relationship are crucial for a successful project.
Trehel’s focus on community engagement and philanthropy is also an integral part of its operations. The company invests time and resources in organizations and causes that align with the values of its clients and employees. Trehel has a dedicated care team responsible for identifying opportunities to make a positive impact in the communities where it operates.
The launch of Trehel Tailored Homes marks a significant milestone for the company as it celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2022. With over 1,600 successfully completed projects, including the largest project to date, Walhalla High School, valued at $47.8 million, Trehel has established a strong reputation in the construction industry.
As Trehel ventures back into the residential market, it aims to continue its tradition of excellence by delivering high-quality custom homes that meet the unique needs and preferences of its clients. By combining its residential and commercial expertise, Trehel Tailored Homes is poised to make a lasting impact on the Upstate’s luxury home market.
