What a heartwarming way to wrap up another year! In Greenville, the spirit of generosity is alive and well as the TD Synnex Share the Magic initiative raised an astounding $1.06 million to support local children’s charities. This year marks the 14th anniversary of the program, which has become a beacon of hope for many families across the Upstate region.
On December 6, the funds raised were presented to four magnificent charities that work tirelessly to make a difference in children’s lives: Make-A-Wish SC received $277,906.77, Pendleton Place was given $272,031.66, Clement’s Kindness obtained $258,792.10, and A Child’s Haven was awarded $251,241.20. Each of these organizations plays a crucial role in supporting children and families in need, ensuring that they have access to vital programs and services.
The year-long fundraising journey was filled with excitement, as TD Synnex brought the community together through various events. One of the highlights was the celebration event at Fluor Field in October, which drew in crowds eager to support this noble cause. In addition, fans enjoyed the TD Synnex Share the Magic Day with the Greenville Drive, and golf enthusiasts had a great time at the TD Synnex Share the Magic Golf Tournament. It’s truly amazing how many people came together to contribute to such a vital mission!
The roots of this initiative run deep, having been founded in 2011 by Peter Larocque, the retired North America president for TD Synnex. At the recent check presentation, Larocque expressed his gratitude for the ongoing support from the company and the community. He said, “It is truly inspiring to see the continued generosity of the TD Synnex family and the profound impact these charities have on children and families in the Upstate.” His heartfelt remarks reminded us all of the incredible changes made possible when communities unite for a shared purpose.
As TD Synnex welcomes Reyna Thompson as the new North America president, she reassured everyone that the commitment to supporting the Greenville community and Share the Magic charities remains strong. Under her leadership, the mission continues to focus on improving the lives of children. Bob Stegner, senior vice president of North America marketing for TD Synnex, echoed this sentiment, pointing out that this initiative truly reflects the core values of the company.
Over the past 14 years, the TD Synnex Share the Magic initiative has successfully contributed over $15 million to these four Upstate charities. To date, the initiative has raised more than $30 million across eight chapters throughout North America, demonstrating the substantial impact it has made beyond our local community.
The festivities didn’t end there! During the event, it was revealed that TD Synnex’s Greenville office at 39 Pelham Edge Road will be renamed the Peter Larocque Center in honor of this leader and visionary who dedicated his energy to the cause. This tribute signifies the lasting legacy of his commitment to bringing joy and hope to countless children.
As we embrace the holiday season, let’s celebrate the incredible achievements of the TD Synnex Share the Magic initiative and the brighter futures it has created for the children and families of the Upstate. With events and fundraising efforts continuing into the new year, the community is encouraged to join in this magical journey of giving. Together, we can ensure that the spirit of kindness and generosity thrives in Greenville long into the future.
