Sully’s Steamers Franchise Grows Again with Employee-Turned-Owner
When Andrew Clack first started working at Sully’s Steamers on West Washington Street in downtown Greenville, he never imagined he would one day become an owner of his own franchise location. Clack, who was then a 19-year-old sandwich maker, had initially expressed his disinterest in working with customers. However, after ten years with the company, Clack’s perspective has drastically changed, and he is now preparing to open his own Sully’s Steamers franchise in the Pelham Road area.
Clack’s journey from employee to owner is the result of the Sully’s Steamers pipeline program, a structured pathway for employees to become franchise owners. The program was developed by Robert “Sully” Sullivan, the founder of Sully’s Steamers, as a way to define and cultivate the skills necessary for running a successful business. Clack is the first graduate of the program, and his success has paved the way for future employees to follow in his footsteps.
Since launching its franchising program in 2021, Sully’s Steamers has experienced significant growth, expanding from five locations to 12. The pipeline program has played a crucial role in this expansion, providing opportunities for employees like Clack to transition from working in-store to owning their own franchise.
Clack’s journey as a franchise owner has been three years in the making. He has invested his time and effort into the company, gaining valuable experience and building a strong work ethic along the way. Now, he is excited to bring Sully’s Steamers to the Pelham Road community and become a part of a new neighborhood.
Clack will be opening his new Sully’s Steamers location in partnership with Shawna Fesler. The Pelham Road restaurant is scheduled to open its doors in March, offering customers the same delicious steamed bagel sandwiches that have made Sully’s Steamers a popular local eatery.
Sullivan is proud of Clack’s success and believes that the pipeline program will continue to be a key driver of growth for the franchise. By investing in their employees and providing opportunities for advancement, Sully’s Steamers is not only building a successful business but also fostering a strong sense of loyalty and dedication among its staff.
The story of Andrew Clack’s journey from employee to franchise owner is a testament to the power of hard work, determination, and the opportunities that can arise from within a company. As Sully’s Steamers continues to expand its presence in Greenville and beyond, it is clear that the success of its employees will continue to be at the forefront of its growth strategy.
