GREENVILLE, SC – The Spoonbill Gallery, a renowned local art space located at 1292 Pendleton St., Greenville, is set to host an enchanting exhibition titled “Soul in Bloom”. The mesmerizing display will spotlight works of experimented multimedia visual artist Sunny Mullarkey. The exhibition is scheduled to open to public viewing on September 6th,and would be available for appreciation through to September 28th, 2024.
The highlight of the “Soul in Bloom” exhibition is the electrifying artwork, “Floral Murmuration” conceived by Sunny Mullarkey. The depiction of her creative imagination revealed through her use of bold colors and rich texture has been described as ‘captivating’.
The gallery shared through a press release, “As Sunny Mullarkey crafts her creations, she dares to push the boundaries of art form and fuelling her decision with a childlike sense of wonder. Her use of color is explored to its greatest intensity and she adroitly designs textures swaying viewers to delve deeper into the recesses of her artistic imagination.”
The artist herself narrates her artistic journey: “Florals and feathers, treasures I’ve gathered on nature walks with my mom, are reimagined as I reconnect with the inner child’s awe for beauty. Every piece of art is an attempt to recapture and share that awe.” This exhibits Mullarkey’s exploration of art as a medium to express and connect with her childhood fascination of nature and its magical elements.
Each of the art pieces in “Soul In Bloom” represents a journey that intends to take its spectators back to their inner child’s admiration for nature’s beauty and the splendour of life, as well as therein protecting and preserving this awe for the successive generation.
To commemorate the unveiling of the new collection, Spoonbill Gallery is hosting a First Friday reception on the 6th of September between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. The event is expected to attract art enthusiasts who would be joining in to romp through the display, immersing in the riot of colors and rich textures that speak volumes of the artist’s visions and perspectives.
With this exhibit, Spoonbill Gallery aims to once again provide a platform that brings together creator and spectator, uniting them through the universal language of art and the shared admiration for creation.
