The Greenwood County Coroner’s Office is currently investigating the death of a Simpsonville woman, whose body was discovered in Greenwood County, as a homicide. The coroner’s office responded to a call on Wednesday night at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Wilson Creek Road in Greenwood.
The victim has been identified as 38-year-old Kasia Dierra Simmons from Simpsonville. Her lifeless body was found by the side of the road and showed signs of having been shot, according to the coroner.
Kasia Dierra Simmons resided on Willow Creek Court in Simpsonville, which is approximately 50 miles away from where her body was discovered in Greenwood County.
The Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office has taken over the investigation into Simmons’ death. At this point, no suspects have been identified in connection with the homicide. However, authorities have learned that Simmons was last seen with an unknown man before the shooting took place.
Deputies are urging anyone who was in the Pinehurst Subdivision between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on the evening of the incident to come forward with any information they may have. They are particularly interested in speaking with individuals who may have witnessed or heard anything suspicious during that time.
