Simpsonville Arts Center to host exhibitions featuring shadowboxes, paintings

Simpsonville Arts Center is set to showcase two exciting exhibitions titled “Out of the Box” and “Florals, Abstracts, Landscapes – Oh My!” starting May 20. The exhibitions will run through June 27 at 110 Academy St. in Simpsonville.

Out of the Box by Leslie Lakes

Sponsored by the Metropolitan Arts Council, “Out of the Box” will feature a unique collection of shadowbox and assemblage pieces by Greenville artist Leslie Lakes. Visitors will have the opportunity to interact with the artwork, such as moving them on a lazy Susan or swinging one on a tree swing, adding an interactive element to the exhibit.

Florals, Abstracts, Landscapes – Oh My! by MeKenzie Love

The second exhibit, “Florals, Abstracts, Landscapes – Oh My!”, will showcase around 20 acrylic paintings by Mauldin-based artist MeKenzie Love. The vibrant paintings are sure to captivate art enthusiasts and offer a range of styles and themes for viewers to enjoy.

Opening Reception

To celebrate the launch of both exhibitions, the Simpsonville Arts Center will host a reception on May 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. It will be a fantastic opportunity for art lovers to meet the artists, engage with the artwork, and enjoy a vibrant evening of creativity.

Visiting Information

The exhibits will be open to the public from 1 to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays or by appointment. This allows visitors to explore the artwork at their convenience and immerse themselves in the world of shadowboxes and paintings.
