SCHSL Soccer State Championships: How to Watch, What to Know

Upstate Teams Compete in South Carolina High School Soccer State Championships

As the South Carolina high school soccer state championships approach, the Upstate region is well-represented with seven teams featured in the nine games scheduled for this weekend at Memorial Stadium in Columbia. The competition promises to be fierce as teams vie for the coveted state titles in both the boys’ and girls’ divisions.

Boys’ Division Highlights

Defending champions Riverside, Daniel, and St. Joseph’s are among the top contenders in the boys’ division. Riverside, the three-time defending champ, secured a spot in the finals by defeating top-seed Wade Hampton in the Upper State title game. St. Joseph’s will face region rival Christ Church in a rematch of last year’s Class A final, adding an extra layer of intensity to the matchup.

Girls’ Division Highlights

In the girls’ division, Eastside aims to clinch a second consecutive title, while teams like Christ Church and Powdersville are seeking redemption after making it to the final stages last season. The stage is set for thrilling showdowns as these teams compete for the championship crown.

SCHSL Soccer State Championship Schedule

Memorial Stadium in Columbia will be the battleground for the following matchups:

  • Friday, May 10
  • 1 p.m. – Class AAAAA girls: Clover vs. Chapin
  • 3 p.m. (approximately) – Class AAAAA boys: Fort Mill vs. Stratford
  • 5:30 p.m. – Class AAA girls: Powdersville vs. Waccamaw
  • 7:30 p.m. (approximately) – Class AAA boys: Daniel vs. Waccamaw
  • Saturday, May 11
  • 10 a.m. – Class A boys: St. Joseph’s vs. Christ Church
  • Noon (approximately) – Class AA/A girls: Christ Church vs. Oceanside
  • 2 p.m. (approximately) – Class AA boys: Gray Collegiate vs. Oceanside
  • 4:30 p.m. – Class AAAA girls: Eastside vs. Lucy Beckham
  • 6:30 p.m. (approximately) – Class AAAA boys: Riverside vs. James Island

How to Watch the Championships

If you can’t make it to Memorial Stadium in person, you can still catch all the action live:

  • In Person: Tickets are available for purchase at GoFan for $15, with free admission for children 5 and under.
  • Streaming: Games will be streamed live on the NFHS Network for subscribers. A monthly subscription costs $11.99 and can be canceled at any time.
