Greenville, S.C. – Temperatures Soar Over 100 Degrees at GSP Airport

The scorching summer heat wave has descended upon Greenville-Spartanburg, South Carolina, with record-breaking temperatures at the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) reaching over 100 degrees on Friday, marking the first time since 2016 that the thermometer has climbed so high in the area.

The National Weather Service confirmed that the mercury spiked to a sizzling 101 degrees at GSP Airport on Friday, surpassing the previous high of 99 degrees recorded on July 5 back in 2012. The extreme heat not only shattered records but also prompted officials to issue a heat advisory for the region as the blistering temperatures are expected to persist through Saturday.
