Prisma Health Continues Its Legacy in Greenville as Massive Redevelopment Plan Unrolls

Green City Council Approves Plan to Refurbish Office Complex

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Greenville City Council granted approval for the ambitious redevelopment plan of the office complex situated at the junction of Falls Street and East McBee Avenue. This strategic location currently serves as the corporate headquarters for Prisma Health, the largest healthcare network in South Carolina.

City Collaboration Fuels the $38 Million Overhaul

The city council concurred to extend a generous contribution of $650,000 towards this $38 million project. The funds will allow a significant expansion of Prisma Health’s footprint at 300 East McBee whilst making room for additional businesses and creating space for a public plaza.

Key Upgrades to Look Forward to

The revamped area around the medical behemoth’s headquarters is set to see a range of public improvements including wider sidewalks, new streetlights, and tasteful landscaping. The city council disclosed that STIR, an oyster bar and scratch kitchen business based in Charlotte, is expected to open a restaurant within the project’s premise.

A Hacker for the Local Economy

Officials are engaging in negotiations with other businesses to gear towards an economic boost for Greenville’s downtown area. With nearly 650 full-time jobs projected to be added to the market, the city is set to witness a positive impact on its economic growth.

Councilman John DeWorken chimed in with his thoughts, “To say this an economic engine is an understatement. I am supportive of anything we can do to keep Prisma Health here and keep them happy. With more than 30,000 employees system-wide, retaining this corporate headquarters downtown is a catalyst for more development. I’m confident we will see a return on investment.”

Private Investment Fuels The Project

The majority of the project’s funding hails from private investment, signifying a significant boost for the city’s plan. The decision reflects the combined commitment of multiple stakeholders to safeguard the future growth potential of Greenville while nurturing a conducive business environment.
