Greer Businesswoman Expands Preschool with a Second Location

In the heart of Greer, South Carolina, Little Me Academy is expanding its operations under the leadership of Mandi Newton, a Greer local. Opening in 2015 with a mere four teachers and ten students, Newton is preparing for the inauguration of the second branch of her quickly expanding preschool business. The Academy, a family venture, now prides itself in a staff of 30 devoted individuals providing care for 145 children anywhere from newborns to four years of age.

The Journey of Little Me Academy

A challenging period in Newton’s life followed the tragically unexpected passing of her husband two years ago. With the thought of closing Little Me Academy looming over her, the strong sense of community in Greer stepped in. Generous donations and gifts from local businesses allowed the school to not just stay afloat, but prosper amid trials. “LMA has grown into something more beautiful than I could have imagined”, Newton shared. “I’m honored so many people love it as much as me.”

Building a Supportive Network

The local government has been an enthusiastic supporter. City of Greer’s Economic Development Director, Reno Deaton, was quoted in a press release, expressing his pride in the business’s expansion. He said: “Little Me Academy supports growing families in our community and provides dozens of jobs. Businesses like this one help make Greer a place where people want to live and companies want to start up, expand, or relocate.”

Little Me Academy Expands

The second location of Little Me Academy is set to break ground on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 3239 N. Highway 101, with the event co-hosted by the city of Greer. In tribute to the academy’s history, some of the first graduates will join the groundbreaking celebration along with Newton and city leaders. The construction is expected to complete and be ready to welcome students by the end of the year.

Conclusion

With the new premises, the extended capacity of Little Me Academy will allow even more families within the Greer area to benefit from their exceptional service. Further embedding its roots in the community, the academy is an excellent example of how dedication and community support can help transform small businesses into impactful local institutions. With a broadened horizon, Newton’s enterprise is set to touch many more lives, contributing positively to the growth of Greer’s vibrant community.
