The Travelers Rest Police Department has reported the arrest of four men following a disturbing incident of burglary and assault that took place in the city in May. The suspects, armed and aggressive, targeted an apartment at The Vinings on Duncan Chapel Road, where one of the men’s ex-girlfriends resides. The assailants not only unlawfully entered the apartment but also physically assaulted two victims inside before fleeing with stolen items.
According to authorities, the break-in and assault occurred around 7 a.m. on May 19th. The suspects, identified as 35-year-old Dexter Marcus Jackson, 26-year-old Devin Anthony Charping, 25-year-old Bailey Andrew Johnson, and 26-year-old Sturgess Wayne Wilson, forcibly entered the apartment and proceeded to attack the occupants. Jackson was charged with burglary, while Charping faced charges of burglary, assault, and pointing and presenting a firearm. Johnson and Wilson were both charged with burglary and assault.
The Travelers Rest Police Department acted swiftly to apprehend the suspects following the heinous crime. Despite the harrowing ordeal faced by the victims, they did not require hospitalization, and fortunately, no shots were fired during the altercation.
The four men were successfully taken into custody by law enforcement. Jackson, Charping, Johnson, and Wilson are currently facing a slew of charges related to the burglary and assault at the apartment in Travelers Rest. The police department is continuing its investigation into the incident to ensure justice is served.
