As the live music scene in Greenville continues to evolve, Pecknel Music, a longstanding musical instrument store in the city, has opened a new intimate concert space within its premises called The Cool Room. This addition to Greenville’s music venues aims to provide a platform for local and regional artists to showcase their talents in a cozy setting.
Owner and musician, Jeremiah Manriquez, envisioned The Cool Room as a space where artists could connect with audiences in a close-knit environment. The venue hosts a variety of performances, from solo acoustic acts to volume-conscious bands, offering a unique experience for both musicians and attendees.
Manriquez, who is passionate about supporting the local music community, expressed his desire to create a safe and intimate space for artists to express themselves. With a background in music, he understands the challenges musicians face in pursuing their passion and aims to provide a welcoming space for them to thrive.
“I’ve always had a vision for the use of this space,” Manriquez states. “I wanted it to be a cool room where we could host performances and highlight the incredible talent we have in Greenville and beyond.”
Since its opening, The Cool Room has already seen performances by popular local singer-songwriter Darby Wilcox, signaling a promising start for the venue. Manriquez revealed that inquiries from artists, not only from Greenville but also from neighboring cities and even states like Ohio, have been pouring in, indicating a high level of excitement within the music community.
“People are extremely excited about The Cool Room,” Manriquez shares. “We are thrilled to see the interest not only from local artists but also from musicians willing to travel to perform in this space. It’s a testament to the vibrant music scene we have here in Greenville.”
With the closure of several smaller music venues in the area, the opening of The Cool Room comes as a welcome addition to Greenville’s music landscape. The venue’s focus on creating an intimate and artist-friendly space sets it apart as a valuable asset for the local music community.
Manriquez is optimistic about the role The Cool Room can play in strengthening Greenville’s music scene and providing a platform for artists to connect with audiences on a personal level. By nurturing local talent and fostering a supportive environment, The Cool Room aims to contribute to the growth and vibrancy of Greenville’s musical culture.
As The Cool Room continues to attract artists and music lovers alike, it stands as a testament to the enduring passion for live music in Greenville and the unwavering support for the artistic community.
