New West Greenville pub aims to bring back the social gathering place

Greenville, SC – The Village of West Greenville is welcoming a new addition to its growing list of local businesses. Driftwood, a new pub concept, plans to open its doors on April 1st, offering a cozy and social gathering place for locals and visitors alike.

The brainchild of Deanna Snow and Rui Silva, Driftwood aims to bring back the essence of a traditional pub – a place where people can enjoy a simple meal and engage in meaningful conversations. Both Snow and Silva have a background in the restaurant industry and a passion for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for guests.

The couple hails from Massachusetts, where they first met at a work party for a restaurant. After some time spent traveling and gaining experience in the industry, they moved to California and opened their first restaurant, Woodhaus, which specialized in wood-fired pizza. They eventually decided to move back to the East Coast to be closer to family and settled on Greenville as their new home.

Driftwood will be located in the former Growler Haus location, which closed its doors in December. The menu will feature fresh and uncomplicated bites, such as fresh tomatoes with olive oil, flaky sea salt, and vinegar. The drink menu will include a variety of options, from classic cocktails like negroni sbagliato and old-fashioned to a selection of wines.

“We’re not here to be like a restaurant. Although you can come and make a full meal out of it. Like, that’s not the idea,” Silva explained. “The idea is social gathering, where we have food and drinks.”

The pub will be open from Wednesday to Saturday, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and on Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. The owners are excited to provide a welcoming and comfortable space for the community to relax, enjoy good food and drink, and connect with others.

With the opening of Driftwood, West Greenville adds to its reputation as a vibrant and diverse neighborhood known for its thriving local businesses. The Village of West Greenville has seen significant growth and development in recent years, attracting artists, entrepreneurs, and creative professionals.

Local residents and business owners are excited about the addition of Driftwood to the neighborhood. “I think it’s great to have another gathering place in West Greenville,” said Sarah Thompson, a local artist. “It’s important for the community to have spaces where people can come together and connect.”

Driftwood aims to create a relaxed and community-centered environment, where people can feel comfortable striking up conversations with one another. Snow and Silva hope that their pub will become a popular gathering spot for both locals and visitors, contributing to the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere of West Greenville.

The owners are also committed to supporting the local community and plan to source their ingredients from local farmers and suppliers whenever possible. They believe in the importance of supporting local businesses and strengthening the community through their establishment.

As the opening date approaches, Snow and Silva are busy finalizing the details and putting the finishing touches on their new pub. They are excited to welcome guests and provide a unique and enjoyable experience in the heart of West Greenville.

If you’re looking for a place to relax, enjoy good food and drink, and connect with others, keep an eye out for Driftwood’s opening on April 1st. The pub promises to bring back the charm and camaraderie of a traditional gathering place while adding its own unique flair to the West Greenville community.
