Abyss has an interesting story behind its name. Originally, it was going to be called “The Dutchman”, but the owners decided that Abyss better captured the essence of their culinary vision. With a name like that, there’s sure to be an element of intrigue surrounding the menu!

The masterminds behind Abyss are Anmar Natheer and Geno Iozzino, a duo with a solid background in the restaurant business. This will be their fourth dining concept, signaling the launch of an official restaurant group. They previously delighted palates at The 05, The 07, and The One5. If you’re familiar with their work, you know they’ll bring something special to the table at Abyss!

As far as what’s cooking, guests can expect an upscale dining experience, different from the laid-back vibe of their other ventures. The restaurant will highlight fresh, seasonal seafood showcased in a variety of tasty preparations, including a notable raw bar that promises a rotating selection of oysters, crab, razor clams, and ahi tuna.

There’s also an exciting in-house baking program headed by pastry chef Kelly Brinson, who will be whipping up delightful breads and pastries to complement the seafood offerings.

Natheer and Iozzino have a long history together, going back over 15 years to when they both worked at a seafood restaurant in Florida. They even kicked off their entrepreneurial journey with a food truck called Keeping it Fresh.
