Designed to enhance urban living, the eight-story building will include a mix of living spaces and high-end amenities. This development aims to address the growing housing demand in the area and promises to integrate well with the local community. With design work by Dynamik Design and construction potentially starting in December 2025, the West End is poised for significant transformation.
In a buzz-worthy move that has locals talking, a Maryland-based real estate investment firm, The Meridian Group (TMG), has laid out ambitious plans to build a stunning 175-unit apartment complex in the heart of Greenville’s West End. The site for this exciting new development is nestled right at 2 Oneal St., a location that’s absolutely ripe for new housing options.
Picture a striking building that soars eight stories above South Academy Street! But wait, it gets better—this apartment complex is designed to taper down to six stories on its southern end, which gracefully slopes toward downtown Greenville. With a footprint of about 1 acre, this project promises to be an impressive addition to the urban landscape.
The choice of this location isn’t just coincidental. The developers have expressed that the decision stems from the site’s close proximity to two local gems: the vibrant West End and the perfectly charming Unity Park. It’s a spot that many are sure to appreciate, offering easy access to relaxation and recreation.
As Greenville continues to grow, particularly in terms of job and population increases, TMG seen this as a golden opportunity to help meet the rising housing needs of new residents flocking to the area. This would mark TMG’s first project in Greenville, and they seem excited to contribute to the fast-paced development of the region.
Notably, this new apartment complex will stand right next to The McClaren, a luxury apartment community with a whopping 246 units. This area is becoming a hotspot for various other apartment complexes as well, ensuring that there will be several housing options close by.
Now, let’s talk about what’s inside! The new development will offer a mix of studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and even three-bedroom rentals. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re a solo dweller or looking to settle down with a family.
Residents of this anticipated apartment complex can look forward to a treasure trove of amenities! The plans include a state-of-the-art fitness center for those who love to stay active, a refreshing pool to beat the summer heat, a stylish club room for social gatherings, a scenic rooftop lounge perfect for sunset views, and even a designated pet area for your furry friends. It’s all about enhancing community living!
Worried about parking? Don’t be! The complex will feature an underground parking garage, ensuring residents will have convenient access to their vehicles without the hassle of street parking.
Design for this modern apartment community is underway, with Dynamik Design, an architecture firm from Atlanta, tasked as the mastermind behind it all. They’ve already built a solid reputation in Greenville, contributing to noteworthy projects, including the ongoing County Square development.
During the month of April, design plans for this innovative apartment complex will be put in front of the city’s Design Review Board for evaluation. And if all goes smoothly, TMG has their sights set on breaking ground for construction as early as December 2025!
With so much to look forward to, it’s clear that Greenville’s West End is gearing up for an exciting transformation! Keep your eyes peeled as this project unfolds.
