Missing Greenville Co. Man Found Safe After Days Long Search

Announced today in Greenville County, S.C, the long-winded search for local resident, Mark Wagnon, ended when he was found safe and unharmed. The information from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has confirmed that Mr. Wagnon is alive and well, which has brought a closure to the search operations.

Details of the Search

Monday was the last day that Mark was spotted, initiating a wave of concern and triggering a search operation by local law enforcement agencies and volunteers. The first lead in this case was the discovery of his vehicle on Tower Road, off Highway 107, which was reported by deputies from the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday.

Mark was eventually found on Saturday afternoon around 3:15 p.m., by a tireless group of volunteers who did not lose hope. Astonishingly, he was located approximately a half a mile away from where his car had been found.

Condition of Mark Wagnon

In the vicinity of Foothills Trail, near a creek in a secluded valley, Mr. Wagnon was found. It was noted that he was not on any trail at the time of discovery.

According to reports provided by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Department, Mark was capable of talking and was in relatively good condition when found. Despite minor injuries and being visibly perplexed and dehydrated, Mark was coherent at the time of rescue.

Following his discovery, Mr. Wagnon was carried out by rescue members and immediately transported to the hospital for further medical attention. Subsequently, his relieved family was also notified about his safety.
