The Mauldin Fire Department is poised to unveil its new headquarters to the public. The department will host a grand opening at the new fire station headquarters at 955 W. Butler Road on Friday, April 12. The program will include a welcome from Fire Chief Brian McHone and remarks from city, state and county officials, followed by a hose uncoupling and station tour.

Designed by Stewart Cooper Newell Architects and built by CloverLeaf Construction, the new facility, which cost $7 million, replaces the previous headquarters located about one mile east next to Mauldin City Hall. At nearly 21,000 square feet, the new headquarters is double the size of the previous 10,000 square-foot facility and has an additional truck bay.

Three truck bays, expanded space for training props in the bay area, a community/training room that can hold 30-plus people, a decontamination area with a washroom and turnout gear room, weight room for firefighter training, patio for firefighters, and a police sub-station for community division are some of the enhanced features of the new headquarters.

The new station will strengthen fire protection in the fast-growing western portion of Mauldin and give the fire department room for more personnel to meet the increasing demand for services. Officials say it is another step toward improving emergency response times and providing top-tier public safety services to every corner of the city and fire service area.

Mauldin Fire Department has been serving the community for over 50 years and responds to a wide range of emergencies, including structure fires, motor vehicle accidents, and medical emergencies. The new headquarters will provide the department with modern amenities and equipment to more effectively handle emergencies and support their ongoing mission to protect lives and property.

Mauldin is a rapidly growing city located in Greenville County, South Carolina. With a population of over 25,000 residents, the city is focused on meeting the needs of its growing community. The new fire department headquarters is part of a larger effort to improve city services and prepare for future growth.

In addition to the new headquarters, Mauldin has made significant investments in infrastructure, public safety, and quality of life improvements. The city has recently completed a number of road and sidewalk projects and is working on plans for new parks and recreational facilities. These investments will help Mauldin attract new residents and businesses, while also enhancing the overall quality of life for its current residents.

The grand opening of the new Mauldin Fire Department headquarters represents a major milestone for the city and a commitment to providing top-tier emergency services to its residents. The new facility will enhance the capabilities of the fire department and ensure that Mauldin continues to be a safe and vibrant community.
