Mauldin Fire Department to Host Grand Opening at New Headquarters

On April 19, the Mauldin Fire Department will be hosting a grand opening event at its new fire station headquarters located at 955 W. Butler Road. The event is set to kick off at 11 a.m. and will include a series of activities to celebrate the completion of the nearly 21,000-square-foot facility.

Exciting Program Lineup

The program will feature remarks from Fire Chief Brian McHone, along with speeches from city, state, and county officials. Following the speeches, there will be a ceremonial hose uncoupling, symbolizing the official opening of the new headquarters. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take a tour of the state-of-the-art facility, getting a firsthand look at the modern amenities and resources available.

Facility Features

The new headquarters boasts a range of features designed to enhance operational efficiency and community engagement. Some of the highlights include:

  • A spacious patio area for outdoor gatherings and events
  • A community/training room capable of accommodating more than 30 people
  • A dedicated decontamination area with a washroom and turnout gear room
  • A fully equipped weight room for firefighter training and fitness
  • A patio and a police sub-station for enhanced collaboration between departments
  • Three truck bays to house emergency vehicles
  • Expanded space for training props in the bay area
