PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. – A man has been charged after a fire broke out at a residence in Pickens County, leading to a swift response from authorities.
The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office was called to Midway Road on May 30 following reports of a fire at a residential property. Upon arrival, emergency crews worked to extinguish the flames that had engulfed the dwelling.
Following a thorough investigation into the incident, officials determined that the fire was intentionally started by the suspect, identified as Terry Ray Galloway Jr. Galloway was reportedly present at the scene when authorities arrived and was subsequently taken into custody.
Galloway has been formally charged with second-degree arson in connection to the fire. He was later booked into the Pickens County Detention Center, where he was issued a $10,000 surety bond.
