The Metropolitan Arts Council (MAC) in Greenville, South Carolina, is a beacon of hope for artists and art enthusiasts in the community. • Awarded $558,441 to individual artists, arts organizations, and schools through its grants program
• 143 artists participating in Greenville Open Studios earned $493,358
• Flat Out Under Pressure, MAC’s annual 24-hour visual arts challenge, drew 128 submissions and awarded prizes totaling $7,000
• Facilitated the placement and service of eight recycling bins in downtown Greenville featuring winning artists’ works
• Placed 150 artists in 42 Greenville County Schools district schools through the SmartARTS program
• Funded over 800 arts-integrated units for the district since SmartARTS began in 2002
