Special Visit by K-9 Scooby at Greenville High School

Greenville, S.C. – September 6, 2024

Students in a special education class at Greenville High School received a heartwarming surprise when K-9 Scooby from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office paid them a visit. The adorable golden retriever brought lots of excitement to Ms. Westfall’s class, and the joy on the students’ faces was truly priceless.

During the visit, students had the opportunity to pet Scooby and even received their very own sheriff’s badges, sparking smiles and laughter in the classroom. The delightful moment was captured on video and quickly gained attention online, racking up over 17,000 views within just 24 hours.

Scooby is not just a friendly face; he is currently undergoing training in electronic device detection. This training is part of his important role in helping protect kids from cybercrimes. The K-9 was donated to the sheriff’s office by an organization called Defenders for Children, emphasizing their commitment to keeping children safe.

The visit not only brought joy but also served as a great way to raise awareness about the role of K-9s in law enforcement and safety. The students were thrilled to meet Scooby, and the experience created lasting memories that they will cherish.

As schools continue to look for ways to engage students and provide supportive learning environments, visits like this show how the presence of therapy animals can make a meaningful impact. Scooby’s visit to Greenville High School is a shining example of community involvement and the positive effects of bringing joy to those who need it most.
