Greenwood, S.C. – E-Learning Days Announced for Local Schools

In response to the severe weather forecast associated with Hurricane Helene, several Upstate school districts in South Carolina have announced changes to their schedules. The districts will implement eLearning days on Friday, September 27, 2024, to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Details on School Changes

Greenwood School District 50 and Greenwood School District 52 will both observe an eLearning day on Friday. Additionally, all after-school activities for Thursday, September 26, are canceled in these districts.

Laurens County School District 55 is also set for an eLearning day on Friday, but schools and offices will remain open on Thursday. However, all athletics events and after-school activities on Thursday are canceled. Homecoming events have been postponed to Friday, October 4.

Oconee County Schools will join the other districts in having an eLearning day on Friday. While Thursday will proceed as a normal school day, all afternoon and evening activities are canceled. A decision to switch to eLearning on Thursday due to severe weather will be made by 6 a.m. if necessary.
