Greenwood County Woman Arrested for SNAP Fraud by South Carolina Social Services Agents

Erin Barber, a 48-year-old resident of Greenwood County, South Carolina, has been arrested by agents from the South Carolina Department of Social Services (DSS) on charges of fraudulent acquisition of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. Barber allegedly amassed unlawfully, an amount worth $21,445 in food stamps.

A case of Fraudulence

Accused of deceitfully acquiring or using food stamps exceeding the value of $10,000, Barber apprehended by DSS agents, is currently under custody in the Greenwood County Detention Center. Upon completion of the investigation, the case will be prosecuted by the 8th Circuit Solicitor’s Office. If convicted, Barber might face heavy penalties for her crimes.
