The Greenville Tech Foundation Enhances Greenville Technical College Students’ Lives with $4.56 Million in Support

Greenville, SC – The Greenville Tech Foundation proudly supports Greenville Technical College’s mission of transforming lives and enriching the community through the provision of world-class, affordable education. In a landmark year, celebrating half a century of impactful service, the Foundation’s leadership is thrilled to announce the contribution of $4,564,355 towards educational initiatives and student support in 2023.

Believing firmly that Education Empowers Everyone

The Foundation utilized these funds across several critical areas, believing firmly that education empowers everyone. Significant contributions were made to endowed and restricted funds; educational support was amplified; essential equipment was purchased for college programs; a record-number of scholarships were offered, and in-kind gifts were made to further enhance college programs and infrastructure.

Notable Achievements of 2023

Robust Scholarship Support: The Foundation awarded a record-setting 835 scholarships totaling more than $784,000, significantly facilitating educational access for students in need.

Facility Expansion: Anticipation grows for the 2024 opening of the Prisma Health Center for Health & Life Sciences. This advanced facility is expected to dramatically improve the educational experiences of over 90% of the college’s student body.

50 Years of Impact: The Foundation marked its 50th anniversary with a celebration that not only honored its past achievements but also set the stage for future efforts. This golden milestone underscored the ongoing commitment to supporting the college and its student body.

Community and Donor Engagement: The success of the Foundation’s inaugural Giving Day went beyond expectations, raising considerable funds to support various student-centered initiatives and showcasing the robust support from the community and donors.

Innovative Programs for Student Success: Continued support was provided for impactful initiatives such as the African American Male Scholars Initiative (AAMSI), which aims to boost the success rates of African American male students through comprehensive educational supports.
