Greenville Attracts Attention from NYC-Style Bagel Joint for Next Location
Brooklyn Water Bagels Eyes Upstate Expansion
Greenville, South Carolina, is quickly becoming a hotspot for businesses looking to expand, with the latest contender being Brooklyn Water Bagels, a Florida-based NYC-style bagel company.
There’s a lore behind the New York bagel. As the story goes, the difference is in the Catskills water. Brooklyn Water Bagels wants to bring its “Brooklynized” bagel to Greenville and is currently scouting real estate.
Providing an Authentic NYC Experience
“Consumers everywhere want the Brooklyn Water Bagel experience. We’re eager to provide a high-quality breakfast fast-casual dining experience, with our authentic NYC bagels and customizable coffee offerings that aren’t currently available in Greenville,” said David Gonzalez, head of development for the business.
“With our growth plan to expand across the Southeast, we see strong potential with Greenville and look forward to offering a fresh presence to the current breakfast scene.”
The Secret Behind the Perfect Bagel
The franchise’s secret lies in the water. Brooklyn Water Bagels first purifies the water – taken from wherever a location opens – then infuses it with minerals found in the Catskill Mountains that find their way into the water in New York City. The bagel is then boiled in the “Brooklynized” water, which mimics the taste of the famous New York bagel.
Expanding Throughout South Carolina
Gonzalez said the brand hopes to expand throughout South Carolina after establishing a presence in Greenville. While staying true to its menu, the franchise looks forward to adding some items that will be unique to Greenville.
