An arrest has been made after a four-year-long investigation from a 2020 case involving the death of Alex Andrea Liddy. The Mauldin Police Department has charged Derek M. Williams, 44, of Greenville, with Involuntary Manslaughter in connection with the 2020 death of Liddy.
In February 2020, the Mauldin Police Department responded to a call for service at the Park View Apartments at 10 Moore Street. When officers arrived, they located a deceased female, identified as 29-year-old Alex Liddy. Liddy’s cause of death was listed as blunt force trauma and partial submersion in water in the setting of combined toxic effects of multiple drugs, according to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office. Her death was ruled a homicide.
