Greenville’s The Commons Food Hall Receives New Life with Aston’s Majority Investment

Greenville Welcomes New Investment: Aston Takes Majority Share in The Commons Food Hall

Exciting changes are afoot in Greenville! A Charlotte-based real estate company called Aston has recently announced that it has acquired a majority stake in The Commons, a bustling food hall nestled in the heart of Unity Park. This partnership signals a vibrant future for this culinary hotspot, which has already made a name for itself among both locals and visitors.

About The Commons

So, what makes The Commons so special? This trendy food hall has become a favorite place for food lovers thanks to its diverse range of dining options and inviting atmosphere. The Commons is set to celebrate its five-year anniversary this November, and its recent expansion—known as Phase II—introduces even more flavors for everyone to enjoy!

The Exciting Expansion

As part of this exciting Phase II expansion, The Commons has welcomed a mix of new tenants including LaRue Fine Chocolates, Indigo Kitchen, MooHogz Craft BBQ, and Kuka Juice. Four out of the seven new dining spots are already open, each adding its unique flavor to the community. The remaining three are set to launch this fall alongside the new Prisma Health’s Roger C. Peace Rehabilitation Hospital Community Health and Wellness Space.

A Partnership with Promise

In a press release, George S. Dewey IV, the president and CEO of Aston, expressed his enthusiasm for the acquisition, stating, “The Commons has become a dining destination for both locals and visitors to the Greenville community.” He emphasized that the goal of the partnership is to maintain the food hall’s unique charm while using Aston’s expertise in retail management to ensure its success for years to come.

Drew Parker, co-owner of The Commons and founder of Parker Group Development, echoed these sentiments, highlighting how the partnership with Aston will help enhance the experiences of both tenants and guests alike. “We’re proud of what The Commons has achieved during the past several years and looking forward to building on its success,” he noted.

Community Focused Development

The Commons already features five original establishments, such as Automatic Taco, Bake Room, Golden Brown & Delicious, The Community Tap, and Methodical Coffee. The arrival of new establishments coincides with a growing enthusiasm and demand from the community, demonstrating the area’s blossoming food scene.

Ray Foral, another co-owner, expressed excitement over the new chapter this partnership brings. He emphasized the importance of creating a unique gathering space that supports local talent, something that The Commons has become known for. This focus on community makes The Commons more than just a dining destination—it’s a meeting point for people to come together and share experiences.

Aston’s Vision for Greenville

Aston is no stranger to the Greenville area, already recognized as one of the largest retail owners in the region. They own and manage several notable properties, including North Hills Shopping Center, Verdae Village, and McBee Station. With this new investment in The Commons, Aston is doubling down on their commitment to the Greenville community, seeing tremendous potential in the food hall’s growth.

Barnes Connell, Managing Director of Aston, mentioned, “We are thrilled to deepen our investment in the Greenville community. The Commons perfectly aligns with our vision of creating dynamic spaces that bring people together.”

What Lies Ahead?

With a promising future lined with exciting new culinary options and an experienced partnership, The Commons is poised to become an even more significant part of Greenville’s growing landscape. Whether you’re looking for your next meal or just a place to hang out with friends, there’s a lot to look forward to at The Commons!

So, if you haven’t checked it out yet, now’s the perfect time to gather your friends and head over to The Commons in Unity Park. Enjoy the diverse tapestry of flavors and take part in a community gathering that’s truly blossoming. Happy dining!
