This unexpected artistic rendezvous kicked off when Holly Magill and her husband, garment manufacturer Arthur Magill, purchased 26 of Andrew’s works for over $3 million, snagging them away from New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. Arthur had a vision to share the beauty of this artwork by taking a chance on Greenville, and thank goodness he did! This stunning collection gave Greenville a reputation that still resonates today, being known for having one of the largest groups of Wyeth paintings outside of the artist’s own collection.
