Corinne McGrath, the marketing whiz over at High Spirits Hospitality, is buzzing with excitement. She says, “We really just wanted to celebrate the rich culinary traditions of the South, and what better honors than bourbon, bacon, and barbecue?” It sounds like a recipe for a good time!
A Flavor-Packed Agenda
The festivities kick off on Friday evening with a delightful five-course dinner created by Chef Michael Sibert from White Wine & Butter. Each course will weave together the magic of those Southern staples, truly setting the stage for the weekend.
Saturday is when the real fun begins with what they call “Bourbonpalooza.” Imagine savoring mouthwatering barbecue dishes and sipping on exclusive bourbon cocktails designed by local culinary talents from 14 restaurants including Comal 864, The Cook’s Station, and Up on the Roof. Corinne explains, “We just felt like this would be such a great way to try all of those different great restaurants in the Greenville area all in one place.”

As you pace yourself through the scrumptious offerings, don’t forget to check out the lively live music, catch a college football game, or even test your skills at axe throwing. For those feeling adventurous, there’s a mechanical bull just waiting for you to take a ride! Plus, you can join a private bourbon tasting or see which dishes earn the coveted title of “best food and drink” from a panel of guest judges.
Supporting Local Restaurants
It’s important to note that the festival organizers haven’t forgotten the challenges faced by local eateries. The devastating effects of Tropical Storm Helene hit the Upstate hard last month, causing many restaurants to close for a week. “This is a great way for them to get exposure,” McGrath adds, underscoring the festival’s role in supporting the local culinary community.
