Greenville’s most revered fireworks spectacle returns to Unity Park on Thursday, 4th of July, as the Clemson MBA Fireworks on the Fourth event lights up the evening sky. This sensational event urges attendees to plan in advance, arrive early, and revel in a spectacular evening at the park.
An enticing lineup of interactive events awaits visitors intending to grace the occasion. The Soul Intent Band is set to launch the event at 6 p.m., gracing the outdoor stage located directly in front of the Prisma Health Welcome Center. Following this, the Greenville Police Department’s Honor Guard will proceed to present colors at 7:30 p.m., accenting the sense of unity inherent to the celebration.
As the evening ensues, a thrilling performance from the 246 Army Band will electrify the atmosphere at 7:45 p.m. Crowning it all will be the grand finale fireworks show, slated to kick off at 9:30 p.m., where the skies will light up with mesmerizing colours in an awe-inspiring display.
Adding to the charm of the event will be a variety of food trucks queued up along Mayberry Street, promising an array of mouthwatering delicacies for the attendees. The park will also house open business ventures such as Pangaea Brewing and The Commons, alongside four active Pepsi locations dispersed throughout the park.
The Greenville Police Department has issued an advisory stating the commencement of road closures for the event from 3 p.m. onwards. Attendees are encouraged to park their vehicles in downtown garages and opt to walk to the event via the Swamp Rabbit Trail. The downtown trolley schedule has also been fixed, running between 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m., circumnavigating between the GTA Transit Center, 100 W. McBee Ave., and Unity Park.
For safety reasons, the trail will be momentarily closed for around 15-20 minutes post-event (circa 9:50 p.m.). The objective behind this brief closure is to ensure all fireworks have been meticulously inspected, thus eliminating any potential risks. During this period, attendees are urged to demonstrate patience and utilize the trail to exit the festival premises.
After exiting the downtown garages, attendees are encouraged to head east towards Church Street before deciding their preferred route. Visitors are welcome to bring along chairs and picnics; however, the event prohibits smoking, firearms, pets, and alcohol.
