Greenville Doughnut Shop to Open Second Location After 1 Year of Business

Scout’s Doughnuts Teams Up with Run In’s New Location in Downtown Anderson

A Greenville doughnut shop will be opening a second location this spring. Scout’s Doughnuts has teamed up with Run In’s new location in downtown Anderson at 120 E. Earle St., where Scout’s will be operating at the front half of the store starting April 13.

“We personally love to run and Run In has been helping us run faster for almost 10 years,” said co-owner Ryland Rainsford. “We also believe that health is a whole person thing — physical, mental, emotional, relational, and spiritual. We can’t recommend eating two of our doughnuts every day, but we do believe in running hard and enjoying something sweet with someone you love every once in a while. So, when Run In approached us about pairing our companies together in a storefront, we immediately knew that we could take two great things and make it sweeter together — something that the whole community could enjoy.”

Scout’s Doughnuts, known for its layered croissant-style doughnuts, opened its first brick-and-mortar location in Greenville’s Overbrook neighborhood less than a year ago. The response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive, leading the owners to consider expanding their business.

Ryland and J.P. Rainsford, the co-owners of Scout’s Doughnuts, launched straight into corporate careers after college. However, they soon realized that they wanted their work to be purposeful and meaningful. They also wanted to do as much life together as possible with each other and their kids.

The Rainsfords believe that health is about more than just eating nutritious foods. They believe in the importance of balance and enjoying something sweet occasionally for mental health and overall well-being.

“Expect great things,” said Rainsford. “We are in the midst of planning a grand opening with door prizes, swag, merch, special flavors, and more. We are so excited.”

When asked if there are any plans to expand further at this time, Rainsford said, “No comment. Time will tell.”

With the new location in downtown Anderson, Scout’s Doughnuts aims to bring their delicious treats and positive community spirit to a new area. The partnership with Run In, a popular running store, reflects the owners’ belief in the importance of physical and mental health.

The second location will allow Scout’s Doughnuts to serve more customers and hopefully become a staple in the Anderson community. The doughnut shop plans to continue offering their signature croissant-style doughnuts along with special flavors and treats for the grand opening.

As the doughnut shop expands, they are excited to continue providing quality treats and a welcoming atmosphere for their customers. Their mission is to create a community space where people can gather, enjoy a sweet treat, and connect with others.

The opening of the second location is a testament to the success and popularity of Scout’s Doughnuts in Greenville and the surrounding area. The owners are grateful for the support they have received and look forward to spreading their love of doughnuts to more people.
