Greenville’s Design Review Board has approved several exciting development projects, including renovations on Pendleton Street, a new apartment complex in the West End, townhomes in Southernside, and the anticipated Gateway project. These ventures promise to enhance the city’s charm and offer modern amenities for residents and visitors alike.

Exciting Developments Taking Shape in Greenville!

In the heart of Greenville, creativity and community spirit are blossoming as the Design Review Board gives the green light to several development projects. For those keeping track of the local buzz, there’s a lot to unwrap, so let’s dive right in and explore what’s cooking!

Changes Coming to Pendleton Street

First up, the board has given its nod to some shiny new exterior renovations slated for two commercial spots at 1233 and 1237 Pendleton St. nestled in the charming Village of West Greenville. These changes are particularly exciting for food lovers! The renovations will not only jazz up the facade but also add a brand new pergola featuring outdoor seating for the restaurant space. Imagine dining al fresco on warm evenings!

The property owner is making sure to keep a touch of history alive by planning to preserve the historic yellow brick on the exterior of the office space. It’s a perfect blend of the old and new! Additionally, the board has asked for a few refinements in design elements like window and door glass selections and outdoor lighting. As part of the makeover, the planter bed in the outdoor seating area will be lowered, creating a more inviting atmosphere for diners.

As for the previous tenants, we bid farewell to LashBar and Red@28th, with a new restaurant tenant yet to be announced. We can’t wait to see what culinary delight will sprout up in this vibrant part of town!

New Apartment Complex in the West End

Meridian Group will be building a hefty 227,500 square foot apartment complex at 2 Oneal St.. This complex will feature a whopping 175 apartment units with options ranging from cozy studios to spacious three-bedroom rentals.

But wait, there’s more! Residents can expect a range of luxury amenities that would make anyone swoon. There will be a fitness center, a pool courtyard, a club room, a golf simulator, a sky lounge, bike storage, and even a pet spa! It’s like living in a resort every day!

Parking won’t be an issue either, as the complex will provide a 215-space underground parking garage with convenient access from Oneal Street. Now that’s what we call modern living!

New Townhomes in Southernside Neighborhood

In yet another thrilling announcement, a new single-family townhome development has been approved in the lovely Southernside neighborhood. The new construction at 413 Oscar St. will consist of 14 townhomes spread across three buildings. Each unit will offer two to three bedrooms, along with the ultimate convenience of a rear access car garage and driveway.

Residents will also benefit from a shared driveway accessible from Trescott Street. This thoughtful design shows a real commitment to community living, fostering connections between neighbors.

Gateway Project Coming Soon

And if that’s not enough to get your pulse racing, hold onto your hats! The board has also approved infrastructure plans for the highly-anticipated Gateway project. This 29-story mixed-use development at 250 North Church Street is set to house a staggering 342 apartments, alongside commercial spaces and a parking structure for around 350 vehicles.

Construction is anticipated to break ground in 2025, and the site will repurpose what was once the Greenville Memorial Auditorium. This ambitious project is sure to make a lasting impact on the city’s skyline and community.

Overall, these projects bring a wave of innovation and excitement to Greenville, blending modern living with historical charm. Whether you’re a foodie, a future resident, or just someone who loves to watch the city evolve, there’s plenty to be excited about in this bustling community!
