A modern townhome development in a suburban area of Greenville County

News Summary

Greenville County developers are unveiling plans for two new townhome developments in Berea and Taylors, totaling nearly 120 units. The Berea project includes 100 townhomes at a prime location near Westside Aquatic Park, while the Taylors project will bring 20 to 24 units to Old Spartanburg Road. Additionally, a proposal for a 52-acre property near Piedmont is in the works for residential development. Community members are optimistic about these projects enhancing local living spaces.

Exciting Plans Unfold for New Townhome Developments in Greenville County

Greenville County is buzzing with news as developers unveil their ambitious plans for two brand-new townhome developments, totaling nearly 120 units! With projects rolling out in both Berea and Taylors, the community is eager to learn more about what these new homes could mean for the area.

Breaking It Down: The Berea Project

First up is the proposed development in Berea, where developers aim to construct a whopping 100 new townhomes. Picture this: a lovely 12-acre tract located right at the intersection of Agnew Road and Richards Avenue! This prime location is not too far from the popular Westside Aquatic Park and is bordered by a welcoming single-family neighborhood, so it’s perfect for those looking for a friendly community vibe.

With close proximity to essentials like Walmart on White Horse Road, residents will surely appreciate the convenience that comes with this upcoming neighborhood. The project is being spearheaded by Las Cruces Investments, who aims to create homes that blend beautifully into the fabric of Berea.

A Glimpse into Taylors

Taylors, where another development is set to introduce between 20 to 24 new units. This project occupies two parcels that total around 3 acres on Old Spartanburg Road. Currently, the site hosts two single-family properties, but in an effort to meet the growing demand for housing, exciting changes are afoot!

What’s intriguing about this area is its surroundings, with many apartment complexes nearby, creating a diverse living environment. The team behind the Taylors project is Vanrock Holdings, who shares the vision of enriching the neighborhood with these new homes.

Looking Ahead: The Piedmont Proposal

52-acre property near Piedmont. Most recently, this site was part of the now-defunct Estes Plant industrial venue. However, it appears the landscape may soon be transformed into a charming suburban neighborhood.

Given the site’s topographical challenges, developers, including Zach Roberts from Crown Developments, believe that it’s not suitable for industrial use. Currently, nothing is set in stone for development plans, but the spirit is high for sorting out residential zonings that allow for 1.2 to 1.7 units per acre, setting the stage for future growth and community building.

What’s Next?

Before any shovels hit the ground, all three rezoning requests from Berea, Taylors, and Piedmont will undergo rigorous evaluations by both the planning commission and the County Council. Everyone involved emphasizes the aim is to enhance community spirit and values with these new residential spaces.

The sentiment surrounding these projects is largely optimistic, as community members eagerly anticipate the addition of townhomes that could provide more housing options in these vibrant neighborhoods. With developers committed to working closely with local entities and residents, it’ll be exciting to see how these plans unfold.

As you can see, the landscape of Greenville County is changing, with the promise of new townhomes bringing fresh opportunities for families, individuals, and newcomers alike. With each development, we move a step closer to creating a more connected and engaged community. Here’s to new beginnings in Berea and Taylors!
