Greenville, SC – Students in Greenville County Schools have recently showcased impressive academic performance, exceeding state averages in key assessments for the 2023-24 school year. According to new data from the South Carolina Department of Education, elementary and middle school students in the county outperformed their peers in English language arts and math during the South Carolina College- and Career-Ready Assessments (SC READY).
Furthermore, high school students in Greenville County also did well, surpassing the state average in all subject areas of the End-of-Course Examination program. This program tests students in Algebra 1, English 2, Biology, and U.S. History.
In addition to these tests, high school students in grades 11 and 12 participated in the South Carolina Career Ready Assessment, which is aimed at measuring necessary workforce skills. Approximately 76% of students who took the assessment in spring 2024 earned a certification, which is above the state average of 72.2%.
