Troopers said a suspect is in custody and they are facing felony charges
– The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) said a pedestrian is dead after they were hit by a vehicle while standing in a yard in Greenville County Monday. Highway Patrol said the incident occurred at 3:57 p.m. on Sweetwater Road near Woody Creek Road. According to troopers, a pedestrian was standing on private property on Woody Creek Road when a vehicle traveling east on Sweetwater Road traveled off the right side of the road, onto the property and hit the pedestrian. The pedestrian was pronounced dead on scene. The coroner identified the victim as 75-year-old Robert Daniel Dobbs.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the driver left the scene after the crash and the incident is being investigated as a hit-and-run. Troopers said Tyler Roberts was taken into custody. He is facing felony DUI involving death and felony hit-and-run with death charges.
