Greenville County High Schools Shine in State Rankings

Greenville, SC – In a recent report, six high schools from Greenville County have made their way to the top of the list for public high schools in South Carolina. This ranking comes from U.S. News & World Report, which announced its 2024-2025 Best Public High Schools rankings, and it’s a proud moment for the community.

Leading the ranking from the county is Wade Hampton High School, securing the impressive No. 10 spot in the state. Following closely, Greenville Senior High School Academy landed at No. 13, while Riverside High School and Eastside High School were ranked No. 19 and No. 20, respectively. Mauldin High School came in at No. 21, and J.L Mann High Academy rounded out the county’s representation at No. 23.

These six schools are not the only ones that were evaluated. Other local high schools were also ranked but did not make it to the top tier. Hillcrest High School stands at No. 93, Berea High School follows closely at No. 96, and Travelers Rest High School is ranked No. 125. Other schools include Blue Ridge High School at No. 131, Greer High School at No. 134, and Southside High School at No. 142. The newest addition to the area, Fountain Inn High School, which opened in 2021, did not qualify for this year’s rankings.

The rankings are based on several factors, including academic performance, student-to-teacher ratios, and college readiness. For a complete breakdown of the rankings and additional details, interested individuals can visit the official website.

This recognition underlines the hard work and dedication of students, teachers, and staff across these high schools, showcasing the commitment to excellence in education within Greenville County.
