Our latest cocktailin’ adventure had us feeling like we were playing the part of Alice in her whimsical wonderland! Tucked into a magical little space in West Greenville, The Rabbit Hole is an eccentric, eclectic, enchanting delight inside and out (and behind a mysterious door … more on that next month!)
We all win when time stands still at 6! While it’s always teatime for Alice and friends, The Rabbit Hole has a menu of small plates that will give any high tea a run for its money. Order a couple of items as appetizers or make a meal out of it. And we all know that 6 is a totally respectable time to imbibe! We did, of course.
Less frog, more Prince Charming. This fairy tale of a drink has a very happy ending. Beefeater gin is combined with ginger and lemon in a beautifully stemmed coupe glass resulting in a tangy, tart, and delicate cocktail. The magic is in the house-made basil oil artistically placed to become floating chartreuse lily pads. The velvety finish will have you croaking for more!
“Tea-totaling” be damned … we are spilling the tea on this one and it is scandalously good! Served in a teacup to honor Alice’s party skills; vodka, Amaro, seasonal fruit syrups, lime, and ginger blend into a concoction worthy of any festivities big or small. This isn’t just for teatime! We would pay the hatter a queen’s ransom for an enchanting elixir “in this style!”
This wonderland of a cocktail is a tequila-based delight where grapefruit, Velvet Falernum, and Giffard Orgeat dance together creating a tasty performance. The encore is a Luxardo cherry that is a sweet treat waiting for you at the bottom of this ballerina-pink creation. It’s an en pointe drink that will smoothly slip on down and have you ordering another. The perfect finish.
There was too much enchantment to fit into one visit … so stay tuned for a “through the looking glass” adventure coming soon. Open for dinner Wednesday through Saturday and for Sunday brunch, Travis, Kollin, Kate, and Ethan invite you to “release the worries of the real world and embark on a journey where each sip, taste, and moment is infused with the magic of Wonderland, if even just for a night.”
