The city of Greenville is set to host a spectacular concert featuring Belle Voci and String Quartets at the Daniel Memorial Chapel on March 26. The event is organized by the Department of Music at Furman University and is free of charge for the public.

Belle Voci: Beautiful Voices Creating Harmony

Belle Voci, which translates to Beautiful Voices, is a treble choir dedicated to spreading the joy of music and fostering a sense of community among artists and scholars. Led by Dr. Vivian Hamilton, the choir aims to showcase the beauty of singing and the power of music to unite humanity.

Hartness and Gladden String Quartets: A Celebration of Chamber Music

The concert will also feature performances by the Hartness and Gladden String Quartets under the guidance of Dr. Anna Joiner. These ensembles, supported by the Hartness and Gladden families, represent the pinnacle of string studies at Furman University. Selected through a rigorous process, members of these quartets receive scholarships and perform together throughout the year.

Featured Artists:

Dr. Vivian Hamilton: Director of Belle Voci, Dr. Hamilton brings a wealth of experience in choral conducting and collaborative piano. Her passion for music has led her to work with prestigious choirs and conductors across the country.

Dr. Stephen Taylor: An accomplished pianist, Dr. Taylor has toured extensively, collaborating with various soloists and ensembles. With a background in pedagogy and performance, he brings a unique perspective to each musical endeavor.

Dr. Andrew Carlson: A versatile violinist and fiddler, Dr. Carlson’s performances range from classical music to American roots music. His innovative approach to teaching classically trained musicians how to embrace traditional American sounds has earned him acclaim in the music community.

Dr. Anna Joiner: As the director and coach of the string quartets, Dr. Joiner brings a depth of knowledge and experience to the concert. Her performances with orchestras and international collaborations highlight her dedication to the art of chamber music.
