Greenville Area Development Corp. Interim CEO Announces Retirement
Greenville, SC – After over two decades of service, Kevin Landmesser, the Interim CEO of Greenville Area Development Corp. (GADC), has announced his retirement. Landmesser has been the driving force behind the growth and development in Greenville County, successfully managing several significant industrial recruitment projects during his tenure.
Landmesser’s Impact on Greenville’s Economic Development
Since its establishment in 2001, GADC has played a pivotal role in supporting businesses in the Greenville area and acting as a link between the business community and the local government. With Landmesser at the helm, particularly for the last year as Interim President and CEO, the organization has celebrated numerous triumphs.
“After 23 remarkable years with the Greenville Area Development Corp., I reflect on the incredible impact we have made in Greenville County and look forward to this next chapter,” said Landmesser. “It has been an honor to assist such dedicated colleagues and I am confident that Greenville County is in good hands.”
During Landmesser’s time with the GADC, Greenville County witnessed the creation of over 10,000 announced jobs and $4.2 billion in announced capital investments. His notable achievements include the successful management of major projects with companies like Lockheed Martin, Michelin, Kiyatec, GE Power, Mitsubishi Polyester Film, and Hubbell, now known as Current.
Previous Roles and Achievements
Prior to joining the GADC, Landmesser worked in economic development for the Greenville Chamber of Commerce for four years. Since joining GADC, he held roles as senior project manager, vice president, and senior vice president before stepping into the presidency. His expertise has contributed significantly to the $7.8 billion capital investment brought to Greenville County and an impressive overall economic impact of $55 billion by the organization.
Post-Retirement Plans
Landmesser will officially step down from his current duties on Aug. 16 and take on a new role as a senior adviser, providing guidance during the transition of a new CEO. His wealth of knowledge and experience are expected to provide invaluable insight and support in this transition period.
Jim Burns, the chair of the GADC Board of Directors, expressed his deep gratitude to Kevin, stating, “His strategic vision and dedication have been instrumental in advancing economic growth across Greenville County.
