The City of Greenville has hired Sam Konduros to lead business recruitment, investor relations, and work collaboratively with economic development partners for the Greenville City Economic Development Corporation (GCEDC).
Konduros is a licensed attorney, certified economic developer, and realtor with extensive business leadership experience both regionally and statewide. He has previously served as the President/CEO of Upstate SC Alliance and SCBio (South Carolina Biotechnology Industry Organization).
Having started his career at the SC Department of Commerce, where he played a key role in attracting international companies to South Carolina, Konduros brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role. He is a graduate of Clemson University and the University of South Carolina School of Law and has been recognized for his contributions to economic development with awards such as the Order of the Palmetto.
Mayor Knox White praised Konduros for his dynamic leadership style and strong relationships, emphasizing the perfect fit for the City of Greenville. Konduros’s background in economic development and his deep involvement in various agencies make him well-suited to drive the city’s economic growth.
The GCEDC, established by the City Council, aims to implement the Economic Development Strategic Plan focusing on real estate and property development, small and minority businesses, retail, marketing, investor relations, and business recruitment. With Konduros on board, the city looks forward to attracting corporate headquarters, recruiting retailers and restaurants, and supporting small business owners.
Konduros, a resident of Greenville County, is set to assume his new role in April, bringing his passion for economic development and commitment to driving growth in the Greenville community.
