Public Invited to Greenline-Spartanburg Master Plan Meeting

Residents of Greenville are encouraged to participate in a public workshop to discuss the updated master plan for the Greenline-Spartanburg neighborhood. The meeting, scheduled for April 11, aims to gather input on various elements of the neighborhood, ranging from infrastructure to affordable housing.

Date and Venue

The public workshop will take place on April 11 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the David Hellams Community Center in Greenville.

Neighborhood Background

The Greenline-Spartanburg neighborhood, situated northeast of downtown Greenville, is undergoing a revitalization process. Currently, the neighborhood faces challenges such as vacant properties, aging water and sewer infrastructure, and disjointed roadways and sidewalks.

Master Plan Update

The city of Greenville, in collaboration with the consulting firm Arcadis, is working on updating the master plan for the Greenline-Spartanburg neighborhood. The previous plan, dating back to 2001, will be reassessed to address contemporary needs and challenges within the community.

Key Focus Areas

The updated master plan will offer recommendations on:

  • Land use and development
  • Affordable housing
  • Roadway networks
  • Stormwater management
  • Pedestrian connectivity

Community Engagement

City officials, along with neighborhood residents and stakeholders, will engage in discussions and gather feedback during the upcoming workshop. Additionally, a community survey will be conducted both in person and online to ensure that the plan reflects the aspirations and needs of the residents.
