  • Upgrades to the entrance and exterior of the arena
  • Changes to the court and seating area

University’s Vision

In a statement, Furman University expressed its vision for the project, stating, “The goal is to transform Timmons Arena into a first-class facility that will rival the best in the NCAA, ultimately helping the Paladins solidify their position as one of the top Division I teams in the country.”

The university believes that these upgrades will have a significant impact on recruiting and retaining top talent for its basketball programs.

Previous Phases and Future Plans

Phase I of the renovation project, which focused on updating basketball offices, locker rooms, and film rooms, has already been completed. Upon finishing Phase II, Furman University will shift its efforts towards fundraising for a dedicated practice facility for both men’s and women’s basketball teams.
