Seven Furman student-athletes recognized with university leadership awards

Greenville, SC – Furman University announced on April 8 that seven of its student-athletes were honored by its Shucker Leadership Institute. These outstanding individuals received leadership awards for their exemplary contributions both on and off the field.

Leadership Award Recipients

The honorees who received recognition include:

  • Cameron Ponder – Men’s cross country/track team member – C. Dan Joyner Athletic Leader
  • Camryn Bolick – Women’s soccer player – C. Dan Joyner Athletic Leader
  • Sophie Shaw – Women’s lacrosse player
  • Sara Snyder – Women’s tennis player – Winston Babb Memorial
  • Christian Newman – Men’s soccer player – Furman Hall of Leaders
  • Denison Jones – Men’s soccer player – American Legion
  • Bryce Stanfield – Football player – posthumously honored with President’s Award
