Fountain Inn, SC — A former music teacher from Fountain Inn Christian School, Norman Jermaine Roberson, has been charged with six additional counts of sexual battery involving an underage student, according to recent reports. This raises the total number of allegations against him to 14.
The 36-year-old Roberson was arrested after concerns about his inappropriate interactions with a 16 or 17-year-old student emerged. These alleged incidents took place between April and November of 2015, when Roberson was 27, while he was still employed at the school.
The new charges come from the Fountain Inn Police and are coupled with prior allegations made by the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office earlier this month, which had already filed eight counts against him. Officials say they believe Roberson had sexual relations with multiple students during his time as a teacher at the Christian school.
Authorities have noted that the inappropriate activities reportedly occurred at different locations, including areas within Simpsonville, Fountain Inn, and other parts of Greenville County.
The police and sheriff’s office are actively encouraging anyone who may have more information regarding these allegations to come forward. The school has been unreachable as a listed phone number was out of service as of August 20.
The serious nature of these charges continues to evoke concern within the Fountain Inn community, raising questions about student safety in educational settings. The investigation remains ongoing as law enforcement works to uncover further details.
