When Greer’s Stomping Grounds Coffee House announced its closure in March, there was a question of what would be next for the Trade Street storefront. On April 1, Flying Fox Coffee posted that it will be moving into the spot at 208 Trade St. and leaving its spot in Cartwright Food Hall across the street. Flying Fox co-owner Jeremy Hartman confirmed that the social media post was not an April Fool’s joke.
“We’re really excited about having our own space to create a full Flying Fox experience,” Hartman said. “Now we’re able to curate a full experience for people.”
The brick-and-mortar location will host a chef-led kitchen, its eclectic coffee menu, and eventually cocktails. Food-wise, Flying Fox fans can expect a menu that is as exciting as its latte selection.
Hartman said a full-service concept was part of the business plan from the beginning. The news comes months after the coffee purveyors announced an expansion into Open Art Studios on Greenville’s South Main Street.
Flying Fox’s last day in Cartwright Food Hall will be May 13. The opening of the new location is expected in June.
