Federal agency investigating complaint against Greenville County Schools
GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) –
The U.S. Department of Education is investigating a complaint filed against Greenville County Schools in April. A weekly list published by the agency’s Office for Civil Rights says the investigation was opened on April 29. The complaint is classified as alleged “Disability – FAPE” discrimination. Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) is a policy that says all children in South Carolina from ages 3 to 21, including those with disabilities, have a right to public education. No further details have been released.
